"Blind
Pilates in Full Flight"
"...Jesus
answered.......'Everyone on the side of truth
listens to me.''
" ' What is truth?' Pilate asked. With this
he went out again......"
(John 18:... 37....38...)

"To deny personal
guilt is to sacrifice the soul for the sake of
the
ego...disavowal [of personal guilt]...destroys
the conscience." -John MacArthur

"The path of the
righteous is like the first gleam of dawn,
shining ever brighter till the full light of day.
But the way of
the wicked is like deep darkness;
they do not know what makes them
stumble." (Proverbs 4: 18,19)

"So
this is what the Sovereign LORD says:
"See, I lay
a stone in Zion,
a
tested stone,
a
precious cornerstone for a sure foundation;
the one who trusts will never be dismayed.
I will make justice
the measuring line
and
righteousness the plumb line;
hail will sweep away
your refuge, the lie,
and water
will overflow your hiding place."
(Isaiah 28: 16,17)
"Blind
Pilates in Full Flight"
We're unseeing
Pontius Pilates,
And our Flight Plan says
"Deny!"...
Ignore the Dirty Laundry,
Pass the buck,
And close the eye.
We're all Filthy Rag-a-muffins
Just pretending to be clean.
We hunker down in darkness,
Where our dirt might not be seen.
We're polluted Self-Deluders,
Who evade the Glare of Guilt
Enjoying Idle Hours
In Idol Towers that we built.
We're Master Artful Dodgers
As the Pontius Ploy we play....
We stare into the Eyes of Truth,
Then turn and walk away.
Hey! Surely we're not guilty!
Both our Pilate hands are clean!
The hands of all those other guys,
Are filthy and obscene.
"Not Guilty!" That's our
verdict.
I declare! We're off the hook!
The Jury's in...
There is no Sin;
So please, Sir, close The Book!
We're Pilates in High Places,
Executing Perfectly!
We've kept the Ten Commandments,
Nailing God for blasphemy!
*
* * *
We're blind men wearing blinders,
Pharisees not seeing well...
Sadducees with good intentions,
Paving this nice road to hell.
We stay hidden in dark corners,
Where the Truth can't penetrate.
We honor "friendly" Prophets...
The "Ezekiels"?
We hate.
The "Isaiahs" aren't much
better,
Pouring salt in open sores...
They expose our shameful secrets,
That we hide behind locked doors.
We scoff at men like Micah,
Jeremiah, Daniel, John....
Rejecting God's True Cornerstone,
"Ignore them! Carry On!"

Dear Father God, Creator,
Reveal our Wicked Heart,
The Stone you laid in Zion,
And the Grace You would impart!
Expose, Lord, our true nature,
Poor in Spirit, Mourners all,
Meek, Starving souls for Righteousness...
Remind us of our Fall.
Teach us, Lord, to self-examine...
Help us up onto our knees;
Give Grace that we might see our Sin.
Dear God, have Mercy, please!
Help us heed the Prophets' warning;
May your Sword, Lord, run us through!
Shield us from the lie of Satan,
That we might abide with You!

"All of us have become
like one who is unclean,
and all our righteous acts are
like filthy rags...."
(Isaiah 64: 6a)

"Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of
heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be
comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit
the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and
thirst
for righteousness, for
they will be filled...."
(Matthew 5: 3-6...)

"The problem comes when
we never get around to talking about the hard
part of the Good News...What's wrong with us
requires much more than a hug
(consolation). It required a cross...We'd rather
feel as if we're victims of a
cruel world than admit we are contributers to the
world's cruelty, lost sinners
who perversely love our lostness, clinging to our
treasured sins like a drowning
man to an anvil." -Frederica Mathews-Greene
