On April 26, 2006 the Spanish Socialist Party introduced a bill ("The
Great Ape Project") in the Congress of Deputies calling for "the immediate
inclusion of (simians) in the category of persons". The sponsors of the
bill stated that "Today only members of the species Homo sapiens
are considered part of the community of equals...". But now, the Spanish
Socialist Left, is heroically battling for a level playing field......
And so, to commemorate this historic, documented occasion of Darwinian
de-volution, here is a light-hearted 'ode'....
