That Law and elected
To make our own rules as we learn.
Stone Tablets we shun...
The "Ten Laws" we've made "One".
It decrees:
"No Judging, my friend!"
How bold and concise !
We eradicate vice
With one liberal stroke of the pen!
We love license not Freedom.
So those Laws? Just delete 'em.
C'mon, baby, you've come a long way.....
That "guilt thing"'s a bummer,
Dance to your own drummer.
There's really no Piper to pay.
We like our truth cuddly,
Obtuse, gray and mudd'ly....
A delight to our well-tickled ear.
A gospel-like smoothie,
A sweet-sounding soothie...
A message with nothing to fear.
So now if you'll pass
That rose-tinted glass...
We'll polish it 'til it's all clear.
Our theology's hollow...
But it's easy to swallow!
And "easy"'s a thing we hold dear.
No Original Sin!
When you gaze there within....
This new "Suit Yourself Mirror" is cool !
And on further reflection,
You'll find no detection
Of inhibiting sexual rules!
What a treat!
What a pleasure!
For the flesh....hidden treasure !
Transgression's a thing of the past....
For us idol romancers
And "Let's take a chancers",
It's a message to "love"
That will last!
We, the "Golden-Calf Dancers"
And the proud "Pro-Choice Prancers"....
...("Poor in Spirit" just isn't our thing.)...
Say, "Excuse us, Jehovah,....
Get a life, and move over.
Make room for the newly crowned King."
