"The Looney Rooneys
Rule"
or
("The Daffy Inducktrination")
On February 22, 2004, CBS commentator on "60 Minutes", Andy Rooney, with
characteristic condescending and sarcastic aplomb, mocked the traditional
Christian believer's faith that God has spoken ("As God Told Me...").... and
still speaks ...to his blood-bought, adopted children of promise . In the
process, Mr. Rooney, an admitted agnostic/atheist, ripped into Mel Gibson and
his movie "The Passion of The Christ".....
What follows are just a few thoughts, observations and light-hearted verses
("The Looney Rooneys Rule") about Mr. Rooney's commentary, his cynical and
vitriolic skepticism and the well of Humanism from which he drinks, and by
which, apparently, he is consumed.

"Evil is not just where blood is
spilled. Evil is in the self-absorbed human heart....With a philosophy of life
that has removed objective and moral standards and lost any purpose for
existence, there is no fact. With a philosophy of life that has severed emotion
from value, there is no feeling. With a philosophy of life that does not want
anyone to take responsibility for anything but passes the blame onto someone or
something else, there is no face [of evil]." -Ravi Zacharias
"[The Humanist]....wants to retain much of the ethic of Christianity while
rejecting the Christ of Christianity. [The Humanist]....selects a portion of
Jesus' message while rejecting Him. The humanist lives on borrowed capital. He
rejects the foundation upon which his values are established." --R.C. Sproul
"The Looney Rooneys Rule"
or
("The Daffy Inducktrination")
Andy says that God's not talkin',
And Rooney's absolutely sure!
He thinks that God's just man's invention,
For the ignorant and poor.
He says that only wack-o dummies,
Could believe in such a thing...
That is, a God Who's truly spoken...
A LORD of lords and King of kings.
So now the Looney Rooneys Ruling
All the roost in Looneyland,
Laying eggs of cartoon morals,
On which the culture now must stand.
The Looney Rooneys have the power...
And they've taught the children well.
Rooney's animated fictions
Have caught on...They really sell!
The Rules of Rooney's Looneys
Are taught in Looney Rooney Skoolz
And now the Daffy Duck has landed,
In the Skoolz the Rooneys rule.
This, my friend, is now a problem....
It's a full-blown culture flap!
We can't just duck the issue,
'Cause it's roosting in our lap.
Daffy Inducktrination
At the Looney-Toony Skoolz
Teaches Humanism's Virtues:
"To Each His Own"...
"You Make The Rules".
Rooney teachers teaching children,
Preaching Magik Kingdom Tales,
The Looney-Toon Inducktrination,
Wrecking families....filling jails.
See the growing pile of babies...
Sacrificial Rooney Rites.
Looney Skoolz of Atheism
Have born this current human blight.
* * * *
And so, Thus Saith Rooney:
"Hey man, don't look at Me!"
"I'm just a pagan unbeliever,
Who's just trying to be free!"
"I sincerely didn't mean for all
The babies to be killed!
(But perhaps true freedom's in the Blood
Of Innocents we spill?")
"I'm High Priest of Human Reason,
And that blood's not on MY hands!
I simply asked that looney Pilate,
To meet the Rooney Crowd's demand!"
* * * *
And so, "Thus Saith Rooney!",
Behold the septic/skeptic's Word.
Yes, The Law of Humanism
Is a toxic dirty bird.
* * * *
So there you have it: God's not talkin',
'Cause if He had, we would have heard,
And if we'd heard, we would have listened,
And obeyed His Holy Word.

"What is truth?" Pilate asked. With that he went out again
to the Jews..." (John 18 : 38...)
" He was oppressed and afflicted,
yet he did not open his mouth;
he was led like a lamb to the slaughter... (Isaiah 53: 7...)
* * * * *
"Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are
under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world
held accountable to God. Therefore none will be declared righteous in
his sight by observing the law; rather through the law we become
conscious of sin.
"But now, a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made
known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness
from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There
is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of
God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that
came by Christ Jesus." (Romans 3: 19-24)
"To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his
blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and
Father---to him be glory and power forever and ever! Amen. --(Revelation
1: 5,6)
