"...To Us A Son is Given"
"As myth transcends thought,
Incarnation transcends myth. The heart of Christianity is a myth which is also a
fact. The old myth of the dying God, without ceasing to be myth, comes
down from the heaven of legend and imagination to the earth of history...By
becoming fact it does not cease to be myth; that is the miracle."
-C.S. Lewis
"History consists of parables whereby God communicates in terms that
imagination rather than the mind, faith rather than knowledge, can grasp....The
only reason for studying what goes on is to get to the parable that it [history]
conveys. Otherwise, it is just an interminable soap opera whose situations recur
although the characters change..."[To decipher the parable(s) of history we need
the key] " ...and of course, the key that came to us is The Incarnation."
--Malcolm Muggeridge
"...To Us A Son is Given"
Light of star is but a shadow
Of the Light of Truth beyond.
When all earthly light's extinguished,
Another Light shines on and on!
Some believe true Truth's a Person,
And in Him no darkness lies.
There are others who deny it...
Although, perhaps, that isn't wise.
Ancient Wise Men came to seek Him;
Another Light showed them The Way.
They saw the King of All Creation,
When they gazed on Him that day.
They saw the Light...They saw the Glory!
They saw the Son with their own eyes!
They travelled through the desert,
To behold God's Promised Prize.
There and then the dark departed...
God revealed!
Emmanuel!
Son of Man and Son of David,
Just as Prophets did foretell!*
They brought Him gifts...
They bowed in worship,
When they saw this Holy One.
The Magi lost in wonder...
In the Glory of the Son!
He appeared to chase the darkness
>From this fallen world of Sin...
Pascal Lamb the Incarnation
Now born for us in Bethlehem!
Wise men offered gold and incense,
The gifts of man to worthy King,
But The Father offers mankind,
True Life only Christ could bring!
"That which was from the
beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have
looked at and our hands have touched--this we proclaim concerning the Word of
life. The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to
you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us. We
proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have
fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son,
Jesus Christ. We write this to make our joy complete.
"This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you; God is
light; in him there is no darkness at all..." (1 John 1: 1-5...)
"The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those
living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned...For to us a child
is born, to us a son is given..." (Isaiah 9: 2...6...)
